Kangerlussuaq (Danish: Søndre Strømfjord) is a settlement in western Greenland in the Qeqqata municipality, located at the head of a fjord of the same name, and just inside the Arctic Circle. The town lies between glacial-fed Qinnguata Kuussua river to the SE, fjord to the SW, and hills rising sharply to 400m to the north. Eqip Sermia – Eqi Glacier – is located in West Greenland, 70 km north of Ilulissat settlement, and 260 km inside the Arctic Circle. Many visitors view the impressive glacier which has a 3.5 kilometre wide face and is constantly calving icebergs into the sea. Feachem Bay is a small bay 1.4 km wide and 3 km deep, in the Canadian province of Nunavut, that branches off the north side of Buchan Gulf. The Gulf is an elongated Arctic fjord on Baffin Island, 147 km north of the Arctic Circle, that faces the great Baffin Bay. Sam Ford Fjord (Kangiqtualuk Uqquqti) lies within the Arctic Circle on the east coast of Canada’s Baffin Island, between the Inuit settlements of Pond Inlet (330 km to the NW) and Clyde River (80 km to the SE). The fjord is known for its glaciers and rugged beauty, with steep granite cliffs on both sides rising to 1500 m. Its mouth is about 20 km wide, and it extends inland 110 km.
