Cruises from Saqqaq
Saqqaq is a village on the Nuussuaq Peninsula in the Quaasuitsup municipality of western Greenland, 380km north of the Arctic Circle (April 2017). The village of fewer than 200 is reached by sea only during summer and autumn. The village name means “the sunny side”, as it faces south. The closest large town is Ilulissat, 93km to the south. Set in Disko Bay, its sources of income are tourism and fishing. For Greenland halibut. Hike the area, mindful of the bogs and rocky ground.
