11 nights Best of the Western Med
Begin 18 November 2022 in Barcelona
Cruise includes:
The following day you will be collected from your hotel and driven by private transfer to the port where you will board Viking Sea. As with all Viking vessels, you will enjoy all inclusive luxury onboard modern ships, with no children or casinos onboard. Your first night is spent still in the port of Barcelona, allowing you time to continue your exploration of Barcelona until 6pm the following evening. You may wish to just relax onboard in the first 36 hours, or come back just for meals or to sleep - the choice is yours.
Days 3, 4 and 5 are spent sailing the French Riviera, with full days spent in Sete, Marseille and Villefranche. You will enjoy a complimentary shore excursion with Viking in each port with a focus on the regions' culture, history, art, music, literature or cuisine.
Days 6 and 7 are spent enjoying an overnight in Livorno, giving you time to visit Florence, Pisa, Tuscany or Cinque Terre.
Your final day onboard will have you disembarking in Rome, where you will be met by a private transfer to another 5 star hotel in Rome. Your three night post-cruise stay includes a full day tour to Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast & Positano with a small group, as well as 2 days at leisure to enjoy Rome your own way.
On your final day you will again have a private transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Barcelona, located in Catalonia Spain, is Europe's largest metropolis on the Mediterranean coast, and one of the world’s major global cities. Indeed Barcelona won the 1999 RIBA Royal Gold Medal for its architecture, the first time that the winner has been a city, and not an individual architect. The ‘Gothic Quarter’ is the centre of the old city of Barcelona, where many of the buildings date as far back as the Roman settlement. Read more about Barcelona, Spain |

3 | Monday, November 21, 2022 | Sete, France | 8:00 AM | 9:00 PM |
Sète is the most fascinating small town on the French Mediterranean coast precisely because it doesn't go out of its way to be charming. The town encircles a lone hill, the Mont St-Clair, on the otherwise flat Languedoc coast. With the sea out front, and backed by the salt water Thau lagoon - colonised by oyster and mussel beds - and the two joined by a series of canals, Sète is all but an island. The canals define the town and many townsfolk have their own little boats to take them shopping, while anglers line the banks. Read more about Sete, France |

Livorno is the third largest port on the west coast of Italy, and is well known for supporting cruise ship tourism to Florence, the Tower of Pisa, the hill towns of Tuscany, Cinque Terre with its enchanting villages, and the Chianti wine region, generally with time allowed for visiting some famous outlet stores of famous fashion houses. However the port of Livorno itself has a lot to offer visitors. Criss-crossed by Medicean canals that are still navigable, and with its port overlooked by towers and fortresses, this well-planned city is most appealing.
