Cruises from Kouare Island
Kouare Island lies 43 km south of Grande Terre, the main island of New Caledonia, and 65 km SE of the capital Nouméa, in the South Pacific Ocean. Kouare Island lies at the southern end of the New Caledonian Lagoon, one of the largest lagoons in the world contained within the barrier reef that surrounds New Caledonia. The reef has great species diversity. It is home to the third largest population of endangered dugongs, and is an important nesting site for green sea turtles.
