Independence of the Seas Cruises
This is a family ship that entered service in 2008, was recently refitted in 2018, and at 154,407 GT she carries 3634 passengers. The ship is very much the destination and has so many family attractions one hardly has to go ashore. This is a large Las Vegas-style American floating resort-city, awarded 5 stars by past guests. Enhanced in 2018, the ship has the latest RCI features, such as interior 136m promenade lined with shops, giant LED screen over the pool, dual water slides, an escape room experience called The Observatorium, a trampoline virtual reality experience called Skypad, a Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, and a glow-in-the-dark laser tag where friends and family can “Battle for the Planet Z”. RCI ships are very much ‘the destination’ and are superb for families. The conference facilities are substantial and Wi-Fi coverage is ship-wide. ‘Water’ as a theme is evidenced by its many pools and water features.
