Freedom of the Seas entered service in 2006, was last refitted in 2015, and at 154,407 GT she carries 3634 passengers. This is a large Las Vegas-style American floating resort-city, awarded 5 stars by past guests. Her early 2020 refurbishment gives the pool area a complete makeover, with slides and pools added to the children’s area. There are a number of new eateries and bars.The ship has the latest RCI features, such as interior 136m promenade lined with shops, 3D cinema, and giant LED screen over the pool. RCI ships are very much ‘the destination’ and are superb for families. The conference facilities are substantial and Wi-Fi coverage is ship-wide. ‘Water’ as a theme is evidenced by its many pools and water features. There are ample public spaces, and finding your way around is easy and elevators are fast.
