While Carnival Spirit has called Australia home for 9 years, it has now been redeployed to Jacksonville, USA, to replace Carnival Ecstasy, sailing there from March 2022. Carnival Spirit is geared for fun - from the little kids right through to the big kids and young at heart! Carrying 2,124 passengers, and measuring nearly the length of three football fields, the ship has a wonderful feeling of space. Refurbished in 2018, Carnival Spirit has been decked out for Aussies with dining options like the ‘Boomerang Burger’ (a must-try), entertainment, power sockets, currency and tips built into your fare all make it a seamless experience aboard for close to home travel. Hallmarks of Carnival are everywhere to be seen, with the cruise line's signature quirky decor throughout and incredibly cheery and helpful Carnival staff - you’ll have no doubt you’re aboard a “Fun Ship”.Carnival Spirit is home to the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, featuring the world’s steepest vertical drop water slide at sea, Green Thunder - one for the thrillseekers as you zoom up to 65 km/hr.

The most popular dinner destination is Carnival Spirit’s two-deck dining room called the Empire Restaurant. There are two dining choices to choose from – fixed dining at two separate seatings or flexible “Your Time Dining” which allows you to dine at variable times which suit you whilst on board. Dining can be booked before you board the cruise as well as at reception if you are unsure of preference. When it comes to lunch and dinner the restaurants do have some open seating.

In conjunction with the excellent service the menus also change daily meaning there will be great variety. If you are looking for something a little more casual the Lido Restaurant has a wide range of options which include small buffet counters, salad counters, desserts, a 24-hour pizzeria, ice cream/frozen yoghurt, and a deli. Blue Iguana Cantina will satisfy any Mexican cravings. Poolside you’ll find Guy’s Burger Joint and Fat Jimmy’s C-side BBQ offering burgers, hot dogs and the like. Or perhaps a slice of pizza is on your mind - Pizza Pirate is the place to go. On designated formal nights or “Cruise Elegant”, the dress code is enforced in restaurants (and public lounges) and the specialty dining options are typically busier on these nights, so it’s best to book ahead. Specialty dining options are available for a charge and include Nouveau Restaurant, Seafood Shack, Bonsai Sushi, The Chef’s Table and dining experiences such as Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs & Ham breakfast. The ship’s lolly shop Cherry On Top is another huge favourite. Cabins

The 31 cabin categories include interior staterooms, ocean view rooms, ocean rooms with French doors (but no balcony), ocean rooms with private balcony, and five grades of suites. Eighty percent of the cabins are outside; 80 percent of those staterooms have private balconies. Each cabin has a gift amenity basket in its bathroom. All staterooms include flat-screen television, safe, mini-bar, beach towels, hair dryer, bathrobes to wear during your cruise, and Carnival Comfort Bed with plush mattresses, good quality duvets, linens and pillows. Standard cabins are a good size.

Most with twin beds can be converted to king-size bed. Good design and soft lighting add to a feeling of spaciousness in interior staterooms. The Junior and Vista Suites have a large lounge and sleeping areas, large bathroom with twin wash basins, bidet, and whirlpool bathtub. The best suites and cabins are those on the aft-facing decks. Suites qualify for priority check-in at port. Some cabins can accommodate a third and fourth person, and most cabin categories are fitted with inter-connecting doors to suit families. There are no single cabins, and 16 wheelchair-accessible cabins. A room service menu is available 24-hours, for a small charge.)
