The second ship in the series, sister to the Iona, Arvia outshines the Iona in its further technical advances and will be Britain's most environmentally-friendly cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas. The new ship is structurally similar its sister ship Iona, the largest cruise ship ever built for the UK market. As P&O’s emphasis is on their food, drink and entertainment – UK-style. Don't expect climbing walls, bumper cars or water slides, but do expect celebrity chefs, revue-style shows, and plenty of bars and pubs. At the centre of the ship is the Grand Atrium, with three-storey high glass walls, grand staircase, gallery and overhead walkways. The ship also has a 670m long lanai deck with a covered promenade, and outdoor restaurants.

It is two decks above a daytime pool, and night-time retractable stage featuring aerial performances, projections onto the roof and immersive shows. The ship will feature more than 4,000 pieces of art, the majority hailing from the UK.
