Cruises from Talcahuano
Talcahuano (“Thundering Sky”), in central Chile, is on the Pacific coast of South America, at about the same latitude as Buenos Airies to the east. The port and city were severely damaged by the massive earthquake in 2010 and the following tsunami that left many boats high and dry. Talcahuano is the site of Chile’s main naval base and submarine fleet, and home to the historic restored ironclad turret ship Huáscar.
