Cruises from Sokcho
Sokcho is a city of 90,000 population, a port on the Sea of Japan, just 50km south of the border with North Korea. Many of its people have relatives in North Korea, and the city was in North Korea until the end of the Korean War in 1953. The city attracts many national and international tourists as it is a well-known gateway to nearby Seoraksan National Park. Other attractions are its beaches, natural hot springs, and fine fishery products.
