Cruises from Port Chalmers
Port Chalmers, a suburb and the deep water port of the city of Dunedin, lies 10 km inside Otago Harbour, on the SE coast of New Zealand’s South Island. Rail and road link it 15 km to Dunedin's city centre. Most of Port Chalmers' economic activity comes from the container terminal. Smaller vessels can proceed up the harbour to Dunedin. The town’s buildings bear memories of its history, and its early Scottish settlers of 1848.
