Parry Sound is a town in Ontario, Canada, on a waterway of the same name. It lies 200 km north of Toronto. The sound named in honour of the Arctic explorer Sir William Edward Parry. Parry Sound waterway opens to Georgin Bay (often referred to as the sixth Great Lake), an eastern branch of Lake Huron. The sound has the world’s deepest natural freshwater port, and a number of marinas. Parry Sound is a popular holiday home country region for Southern Ontario residents.
