Cruises from Nansen Harbor
Nansen Harbor lies on the coast of East Greenland, 785 km to the WSW of Iceland, and 260 km south of the Arctic Circle. It lies inside Umivik Bay. Upernattivik Island (Upernarsuak) lies in the middle of the inner part of the bay. The area contrasts with the jagged Greenland coast, and the Greenland ice sheet comes down to the shore smoothly, with only a few appearances of exposed rock. The harbour includes some small islands and a fjord and the terminus of a few glaciers.
