Cruises from Monaco Glacier
Monaco Glacier (Monacobreen) enters Liefdefjorden in Haakon VII Land on the island Spitsbergen, the largest island in the Svalbard peninsula of Norway. The mouth of the glacier is about 1440 km north of the Arctic Circle. Liefdefjorden has a length of about 30 km. The Monaco Glacier originates in the ice field near Eidsvollfjelle, the highest mountain in Haakon VII Land at 1449 m. The massive blue ice face of the glacier calves into the sea over a width of 3.9 km, causing miniature tsunamis.
