Cruises from Kuri Bay
Kuri Bay is located in NE Western Australia, 370 km NE of Broome, and opens into the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by red cliffs, the bay is sheltered from inclement weather. With its tropical savannah climate, it is home to Australia's first cultured pearl farm, founded in 1956, one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere. Kuri Bay is named after Tokuichi Kuribayashi of Nippo Pearls, the Japanese company that provided the technical expertise to the early farming joint venture.
