Cruises from Kumano
Kumano is a coastal city on the southern tip of the Kii Peninsula, 100 km south of Osaka, facing the Pacific Ocean. Kumano City (pop. 20,000) is of interest to travelers for its trails, rock formations, and shrines. It is one of the most popular spiritual areas in Japan. Kumano is centred around three shrines, Hongu Taisha, Nachi Taisha and Hayatama Taisha, collectively known as the Kumano Sanzan. Pilgrims have traveled to the Kumano Sanzan via walking trails for over 1000 years.
