Cruises from Kitakyushu
Kitakyushu is a major port on the northern tip of the island of Kyushu at the western entrance to the Inland Sea of Japan. Across a narrow strait is the larger island of Honshu. Kitakyushu was formed in 1963 by joining five smaller cities. It has been a hub of land and marine traffic for centuries, and is an important industrial centre. Many of the old buildings from the Meiji Period (1868-1912) can be seen around Moji Port.
