Cruises from Himeji
Himeji, population 535,000, is the second largest city of Hyogo Prefecture after Kobe. It lies on Honshu Island facing the Inland Sea of Japan. One of the local sites worth visiting is Mount Shosha, 30 minutes from the city by bus and ropeway. Its temple complexes spread over a forested mountain top. Mount Shosha is frequently used as a filming location for historical movies and TV dramas. Besides mostly domestic productions, the Hollywood movie "The Last Samurai" was partially filmed there.
