Fernando de Noronha (aka Archipelago), is a collection of 21 islands, islets and rocks of volcanic origin, in the Atlantic Ocean, 354 km offshore from the Brazilian coast. The islands of this archipelago are the visible parts of a range of submerged mountains. The principal island is Fernando de Noronha Island, 10 km long, with its own airport and several settlements. With some beautiful beaches, and a little more than 2,000 inhabitants, tourism is developed in a sustainable way.
