Cruises from Ambodifototra
Ambodifotatra is the capital of Sainte-Marie Island that resembles an exclamation mark in the sea, extending for 50km off the eastern coast of Madagascar. It was once a hideout for pirates, as testified to on the cemetery headstones to the south of the capital. Also of interest are the old fort built by the French East India Company, and the oldest Catholic church in Madagascar.
