Alphonse Atoll is one of two islands in the Alphonse Group, in the Outer Islands of the Seychelles Archipelago, Western Indian Ocean. The island has fewer than 100 inhabits, and is actually 400km from Mahé, the main city and island of the Seychelles. This beautiful atoll is nearly 7km across, with a large central lagoon. Above water level is the triangular low land mass of Alphonse, sufficient for a 1220m airport runway, modern bungalows (about 40) and resort facilities.
