Aldabra Atoll is situated in the Aldabra Group of islands in the Indian Ocean. Aldabra is the part of the Republic of Seychelles closest to Africa, and 1200km to the NE is Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles. Due south of Aldabra is Madagascar. It is the world’s second largest coral atoll, 35km E-W and 14km N-S (the largest being Kirimati in the Pacific).
