Cruises from Sydney

Situated on Australia's east coast is Sydney, the capital city of New South Wales. Cruising guests have the privilege when departing Sydney ports to view the iconic and famous Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge while leaving Sydney Harbour. In 1973, the Opera House completed construction and is the most popular building in Australia and one of the most famous in the world. The majority of cruises from Sydney depart from the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay. Sailing into and out of the iconic Sydney Harbour is truly one of the most incredible cruise experiences, offering novel and spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and the city as you manoeuvre into the terminal. Sydney's second terminal is White Bay Cruise Terminal located in Rozelle. Departing this terminal means you will experience sailing under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, offering a whole different vista. Leaving the harbour from either terminal will see you sail past Fort Denison, a former prison and out through the Heads. As the busiest passenger port in Australia, Sydney offers a vast array of cruises and destinations to explore.

  • Where do cruises from Sydney leave from?

The majority of cruise ships depart from one of two main terminals, the Overseas Passenger Terminal located at Circular Quay and White Bay Cruise Terminal located in Rozelle.

  • How to get to & from the Passenger Cruise Terminal?

Circular Quay is easily accessible. You can take the train from the airport to Circular Quay station (upon arrival you’ll get a sneak peak of your cruise ship), take a taxi, or you can arrange a cruise line-operated transfer to the doorstep of the cruise terminal. White Bay Cruise Terminal is about a 20-30 minute drive from Sydney Airport. The best way to get there is a cruise line-operated transfer, by taxi or by ferry from King Street Wharf. Plan your trip here.

If you have any mobility issues then the cruise terminal staff will be able to assist you with a wheelchair for the embarkation process. It's a great idea to let your Clean Cruising consultant know in advance if you will need some extra assistance.

The best times to visit Sydney are September through November and from March to May as they offer the most comfortable temperatures, around mid 20°C. • What happens when you arrive at one of the Sydney cruise terminals?

Hint: Completing your cruise line check-in online or via the cruise line app will make this process smooth sailing. After check-in, you will proceed via customs onto the ship. Once you step onboard the ship’s crew will direct you towards your stateroom.
