Port Antonio is a seaport town on the northeast coast of Jamaica, 100 km northeast of the capital Kingston. It is one of the island’s largest ports, a major shipping point for bananas, coconuts, and cacao and is one of Jamaica’s oldest and least-commercialized tourist resorts. Santo Domingo, the most bustling and diverse city in the Caribbean, is the capital of the Dominican Republic, and the oldest city in the Western Hemisphere on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Casa de Campo is a relatively new ‘Resort-port’ in the Dominican Republic, which is entirely geared to the Caso de Campo Resort, rather than an existing town. It is situated on the eastern side of Hispaniola, an island that it shares with Haiti. This port, still in its infancy in terms of development, is somewhat controversial because most of the more interesting options are available only through ships' shore excursions, and hence there's a limited range of activities for independent travellers.
